The ancient elevator system, operated by men using bells and trust in each other, lowered us 450 feet down into the ground where miners once worked like gophers, extracting ore for BHP (Broken Hill Proprietary) the new company formed in 1885.....

The rain kept coming, saturating our track 'till it was near impassable. Then Sunday arrived, the start of our ride, the sun was shining for 21 days when 21 cyclists left Cairns, headed for the tip top of Australia, Cape York.....

A fantastic event put on by SA in Adelaide. All Trails stayed at the Hilton rubbing shoulders with the Australian and the International racing stars, the media and the organisers.
We rode 50km early each morning sometimes with Phil Liggett (the voice of cycling & Mike Tomalaris from SBS) before a great brunch at the Hilton and then drove to watch the days racing.
We rode the Be Active Tour, a stage of the race (like the TdF L'Etape) most the 150km some the 100km on day 2 of TDU.
The accomplished group from NSW who rode from Adelaide to Melbourne with All Trails in Nov 2003, were back again in Nov 2004. This time they met in Tasmania and rode from Devonport to Queenstown & Strahan (where they spent a night wining and dining and sleeping aboad the Stormbreaker Yatch).
They rode back to Devonport a different route and visited the Cradle Mountain National Park. What a great holiday, well ridden Adrian, Ayllie, Anthony, Michelle, Peter, Simon, Andrea, Philip, Margot and Mark.
A great time was had by cyclists as they cycled from
Melbourne to Wilson Promontory. Once at the Prom the
cyclists donned hiking boots and backpacks and walked
the 20 km to the lighthouse.
The weather was generally kind and the company genial.
A pleasant few days enjoying the riding and the spectacular
coastline of Wilsons Promontory.

They came from New Zealand and all the mainland states of Australia. Champagne celebrations at the Kosciuszko summit kick-started a wonderful ride. The cyclists enjoyed great weather through the Murray Valley, Beechworth’s rail trail, vineyards and Kelly country.
The massive gums, colour and array of birdlife all combined to create an unforgettable trip. It was a happy group of friendly cyclists that rode the final stage along the paths and piers of St Kilda.

The 6 day Tour Down Under bike race introduced social riders to another level of cycling. Based at the Hilton, amongst the professionals, we rode everyday, including some race stages, watched from good vantage points the exciting racing and joined in the fun and frivolity of people and parties. Adelaide really knows how to do it.
An accomplished group of 14 NSWalers had a fantastic fun filled week riding and making merry all the way from Adelaide along the coast to Melbourne. Well done Adrian, Ayllie, Michelle, Phil, Margot, Peter, Pam, Simon. Gloria, Mike, Linda, Phillip, Andrea, & one more Phil.

The 3rd Challenge Series included
challenging hills, torrential rain, magnificent scenery
and great comradeship.
Some riders have now completed all 3 challenge rides
so far and have thus ridden from Adelaide to Brisbane.

36 riders headed out from Bourke on an epic journey. Their colourful lycra outfits a bright splash in the broad spread of the Australian Outback. Lots of wildlife, history, bush pubs and the peace of the open road made for an unforgettable experience.

They came, they sore and they conquered some of the most beautiful hills and headwinds nature could provide, and they loved it. Olympic gold medallist Brett Aitken joined 53 happy cyclists, as they rode through historic coastal towns along Encounter Bay, with stunning surf as the backdrop.
Daylight starts were common, too much good food was the only complaint, and our "in house" masseurs were more popular than a 50 km tailwind.
Shipwreck Coast, with it's limestone sentinels, were nature's way of hailing these cyclists. They actually stopped, and like a dingo's breakfast, looked around and were off. The Great Ocean Rode at daybreak was breathtaking, etched in the cyclists memories forever.
Wow, what a ride, and a sense of achievement for the
cyclists and All Trails team.
The riders were fantastic, climbing hills, pushing side
winds and clocking their fastest 50 km stretch.
It gave Phil & Susan lots of enjoyment to see the
pelotons sweeping across the lush green fields, and
riders devouring the luscious lunches and snacks at
roadside stops. The camaraderie was contagious.
We are really proud of the tenacity and determination
riders display when they get out there, and to ride
1250 km in 8 days from Adelaide to Melbourne in all
sorts of conditions is truly a marvellous effort.
Congratulations to you all
Australia Day was action day. Going down Mt Donna Buang is always exciting, with seventeen kilometres of winding bitumen roads weaving through a forest of ferns and gums. Cyclists grasped the opportunity to spread out on shaded lawns at lunch time before the big push of twenty kilometres to the Lilydale Lake. A casual chat and refreshments lasted well into the late afternoon. A great day ended in fireworks display.
A very successful event with riders actually enjoying the tough stages through the alpine country. The roadies had their day, winding up along the beautiful quiet country roads. Great camaraderie among new friends and old.
The Simpson was sensational, 4WD vehicles escorted us to Dalhousie Springs, an oasis in heaven, before cycling over 1200 sand ridges, dodging dromedaries, skitting skinks and generally giving our bodies and bikes a pounding prior to the evening camp fire. Birdsville races weekend was busier than Bourke Street, with Aussie characters of every size peering beneath their wide brimmed hats. Down the track the Flinders Ranges after 5" of rain, gave riders fun while fording the creeks, with scenery unsurpassed.
This was the ultimate. Cycled through country where Ned Kelly and other bushrangers once rode, unwind at night in the historic country towns, be spoilt with Victoria's autumn scenery and savour your memories for the rest of the century.... Such is life.
100 cyclists went down from Mt Donna Buang to Warburton to Lilydale for the 2001 Australia Day Ride - It's on again in 2002
Fabulous post Christmas ride around the Grampians. Finishing with a spa at Hepburn Springs.
Staying at Dinner Plain, riding down from the top of Mt Hotham for overnight at Ensay, riding along side the Tambo River to Lakes Entrance.
An Aussie cycling adventure for thirteen American / Korean students from Lifetime Sports in Los Angeles. We rode bikes, climbed mountains, played in the surf, watched Aussie Rules Football, played cricket and threw boomerangs. Australia's clean air, beaches & sea, left a big impression on the boys.
