Pheels Phantastic - Great Vic Bike Ride 2006
Pheels Phantastic Deluxe Luggage & Distribution Package on the Great Victorian Bike Ride.
Well, we all had a wonderful time on the Pheels Phantastic Package and the superbly run BV GVBR. It was very hot but our air-conditioned rooms, masseurs in the shade and the many swimming pools at out accommodation places made it most enjoyable.
We had two very capable and hard working masseurs Adrian & Catherine Grech from the Copeland College of Massage Therapy to spoil our cyclists at the end of each day and our very qualified and friendly bike mechanic John Beer to keep our bikes in tip top condition.
About 1/3 of the riders were from last year's Pheels Phantastic GVBR and it was a pleasure to see their smiling faces again this year and of course it is good to see the new faces.
We had a few fathers and sons and one mother and son and other family groups of parents and aunts and sisters which was lovely to see and of course many friends riding together. Some friends living interstate but meeting up for the ride, a great way to catch up with family and friends....
One of our quite senior riders found the heat and the hills a hard combination and was in hospital for a few days but he his home now and doing well.
We are all safely home now but we feel for the residents in the area we have just visited as they are now in the midst of the terrible bush fires in our state.
Well done to all our riders on the GVBR. We leave in February for the Pheels Phantastic GTBR. We hope to see you there or on GVBR 2007. Thank you again to our staff.
Happy Christmas and safe cycling in 2007. Phil & Susan McDonald
