Impressive start to the Cycle Legs Reconnaissance

G'day,







Welcome to the Cycle Legs blog.  We are on reconnaissance in Java, checking out the Bali to Jakarta leg.  Our partner in the Indonesian sectors is Yunsar, a lovely man who has worked and studied abroad and is very knowledgeable about his country and life in general.   Phil will be leading the tour with Yunsar in 2011.







The wonderful family life of Indonesian people is displayed everywhere. Mum and Dad plus 2 or 3 little children help their parents in their work. We see the children marching though town preparing for celebrations for Independence Day in August, they look beautiful in their school uniforms. There are motor scooters and bicycles everywhere.







People cannot do enough for us, children are fascinated with us and our bikes standing up on top of the roof rack of our car.







The mountains of fire with their dormant volcanoes are majestic rising from the rice fields.
