Quick FAQs:

What level of fitness is required for the Great Ocean Walk?
You really need to be a reasonably keen walker – not necessarily fast, but consistent. Most days are rated ‘easy’ to ‘moderate’, with a few ‘hard’ sections (lots of steps). The bigger challenge may be the accumulated fatigue from walking multiple days back-to-back. Ask us for the training plan.

Can I skip sections of the day’s route if needed?
Absolutely. You can jump in our support vehicle at certain meeting points during the day and even have a day off if you need a break from walking.

Is the Great Ocean Walk busy?
There will be other walkers on the track but we run our tour at a great time of year, missing the peak high season when the walk is busiest, so it certainly doesn’t feel crowded. It is also designed as a one-way walk so you don’t see many people during the day with very few people coming from the other direction.

Is it better to camp or use accommodation on the Great Ocean Walk?
In our opinion accommodation is much better! It does mean that you must transfer to the start/end of every day but the warm showers, roof over your head, heating/cooling, comfy bed, ensuite and restaurant meals more than make up for it. Camping is great for campers, but having a fully supported tour company looking after you makes it much more achievable for many more people.
