Poland Expedition 2027 — Bookings Open 10 August

Our 2027 European Tour is almost here, and this one is something special. The Poland Expedition takes you on a 22-night cycling journey from Gdansk on the Baltic Coast to Warsaw - through medieval castles, Gothic cathedrals, painted villages, and seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The riding is largely flat, the history is extraordinary, and Poland remains one of Europe's most rewarding yet most overlooked destinations.

From the world's largest medieval castle at Malbork to the extraordinary underground salt chapels of Wieliczka, from the solemn grounds of Auschwitz-Birkenau to the fairytale squares of Krakow and the rebuilt streets of Warsaw - this is a tour that moves you in every sense. And because Poland sits well outside the usual European tourist circuit, the experience feels genuine in a way that more-travelled routes simply can't match. The food is great, the people are warm, and your money goes further once you're there.

As with all AllTrails tours, this is a small group experience - places are limited. Early bird pricing is available from 10 August - register your interest below to be first in line when bookings open.

The Poland Expedition is a 22-night fully supported guided cycling tour from Gdansk on Poland's Baltic Coast to Warsaw, covering 1510km through seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites, medieval castles, and some of Europe's most extraordinary cities. Running 3-25 July 2027, the tour is available as a full 22-night experience or as two separately bookable stages - Gdansk to Wroclaw (Stage One, 10 nights) and Wroclaw to Warsaw (Stage Two, 12 nights). With mostly flat terrain averaging 84km per day, it suits riders with solid base fitness who are looking for a genuinely different European cycling experience.

Why We Love It (and We Think You Will Too)

• Cycling Poland's flat central plains - quiet roads, gentle terrain, and ever-changing scenery along the way.

• Seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites in one tour - a remarkable concentration of history and heritage.

• Malbork Castle - the largest medieval castle in the world, riding toward it is an extraordinary moment.

• Torun rest day - explore a Gothic World Heritage city famous for its medieval streets and gingerbread tradition.

• A sobering and essential guided visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau, where we pay our respects and reflect.

• Krakow rest day - explore Wawel Castle, Europe's largest medieval market square, and historic Kazimierz.

• The Wieliczka Salt Mine - descend into underground chapels and chambers carved entirely from salt.

• Wroclaw rest day - a colourful Old Town, river islands, and the city's famous bronze dwarf statues.

• Warsaw's Old Town, a UNESCO site painstakingly reconstructed after near-total wartime destruction.

• Polish cuisine and great local value - hearty food and dining that costs well below Western Europe.

• AllTrails Australian owners on tour with you - personal, attentive, and invested in every single ride.

• Wonderful local bilingual guides with deep knowledge of Poland's history, culture, and hidden gems.

Who is this tour for?

This tour suits cyclists who love to learn as they ride - people drawn to history, culture, and the satisfaction of covering ground through a country with so much to give. The terrain is mostly flat, making it accessible to a wide range of riders, though the distances are real: you'll average around 84km per day across 22 riding days, so a solid base fitness is worthwhile before you arrive.

If you've already ticked off the usual European favourites and are ready for something that feels genuinely different - somewhere with outstanding architecture, deep historical resonance, and wonderful local food, without the tourist crowds or the price tags that come with them - Poland will not disappoint. Three built-in rest days give you time to breathe and explore at your own pace, and with everything taken care of, you can simply settle into the rhythm of the road and let the country do the rest.
