Join AllTrails for our flagship 2027 European Tour — the Poland Expedition
From the amber-tinged waterways of Gdańsk on Poland's Baltic coast to the resilient streets of Warsaw, this 23-day cycling journey moves through some of Europe's most historically rich cities at a pace that lets it all sink in. Poland remains one of the continent's most overlooked destinations — and that's precisely what makes it so rewarding. While other European tours draw the crowds, you'll find genuine local character here: colourful Old Towns that rival anything in Western Europe, soaring Gothic cathedrals, Baroque market squares, and streets where the stories run centuries deep — from Copernicus and the Teutonic Knights to the Solidarity movement that helped reshape modern Europe. The riding itself suits a wide range of cyclists, with the route largely following Poland's flat central plains, keeping daily distances manageable and the focus firmly on what's around you rather than what's beneath your wheels.
You'll ride past the world's largest medieval castle at Malbork, through the UNESCO-listed cities of Toruń and Kraków, and take time for a sobering visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau — with rest days in Bydgoszcz, Wrocław, and Kraków to explore at your own pace. Along the way, Poland's natural beauty reveals itself quietly: peaceful river valleys, rolling farmland, painted villages, and spa towns tucked into the countryside. Add to that the exceptional value compared to better-known European routes, and this is a tour that will consistently surprise and delight. Everything is taken care of, so you can settle into the ride and let a remarkable country unfold around you.

Who is this tour for?
This Poland Expedition suits cyclists who love to learn as they ride — people drawn to history, culture, and the satisfaction of covering ground through a country with so much to give. The terrain is mostly flat, making it accessible to a wide range of riders, though the distances are real: you'll average around 85km per day across 22 riding days, so a solid base fitness is worthwhile before you arrive.
If you've already ticked off the usual European favourites and are ready for something that feels genuinely different — somewhere with outstanding architecture, deep historical resonance, and wonderful local food, without the big tourist crowds and tourist price tags — Poland will not disappoint. Three built-in rest days give you time to breathe and explore at your own pace, and with everything taken care of, you can simply settle into the rhythm of the road and let the country do the rest.
